4. Moto G7 PlayMoto G7 Play

$ 200

The G7 Play is a solid smartphone that, despite not having high-end internal devices, can provide a smooth and agile mobile experience, even when playing demanding games such as PUBG Mobile, which is impressive.

The construction quality is excellent despite the plastic on the back; it has fine details that give the G7 Play a more premium look.

Of course, there must be concessions in such a cheap smartphone, and in the case of the G7 Play, those are the cameras. Although the images are usually well lit, the lack of a decent autofocus system means that most of the photos will come out looking a little soft.

Still, if cameras are not your priority, the Moto G7 Play is an impressive kit and it will cost you to find something better at this price.

Specifications:

  • 147.3 x 71.5 x 8 mm

5. Moto E5Moto E5

Price TBC

The Moto E5 is one of the best cheap smartphones on the market. Of course, if you spend a little more you can get something better, but if you are looking for the cheapest phone (which works well), then this is your option.

We were impressed by the quality of the design and construction, along with a host of features including the screen, the camera, the fingerprint scanner, and the battery life.

Keep in mind that you will give up several of the features of somewhat more expensive models; it is worth analyzing their specifications thoroughly before buying.

Specifications:

  • 5.7 in 18: 9 IPS LCD HD +
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 425, 1.4GHz Quad-core

  • 174g
6. UMIDIGI One ProUMIDIGI One Pro

$ 169.99

On paper, the specifications of the UMIDIGI One Pro seem too good to be true. Fast wireless charging, NFC, IPS 19: 9 screens, double cameras, fingerprint sensors mounted on the side and an attractive design are not elements that we normally expect in mobiles with this price.

Obviously, despite all the specifications that the One Pro promises, it is noted that it is a low-cost phone: the screen has an HD resolution, the fingerprint sensor can be somewhat inaccurate and the cameras can leave something to be desired.

In general, however, a large purchase budget, and maybe if you are not very fussy with your smartphone, do not get to notice that it is a cheap smartphone.

Specifications:

  • IPS Screen 5.86 inches FullSurface 19: 9 HD (1520×720, 287ppi) with Gorilla Glass
  • Android 8.1 Oreo

  • 700 MHz ARM Mali G71 MP2 GPU
  • 4 GB RAM
  • 64 GB of storage, microSD up to 128 GB
  • Side fingerprint sensor (integrated into the power button)
  • 12Mp + 5Mp OV12870 double camera, f / 2.0, 1080p video
  • 16Mp S5K3P3 auto camera, f / 2.0, Facial unlocking

7. Huawei P Smart (2019)Huawei P Smart (2019)

As the P Smart 2019 and the Honor 10 Lite cost the same and are basically clones of each other, it is better than you choose the second for its higher resolution front camera and its case.

Specifications:

  • Android 9.0 Oreo with EMUI 9.0.1
  • 6.21in 2340×1080 19.5: 9 touch screen, 415ppi
  • Processor Kirin 710 octa-core (4×2.2GHz, 4×1.7GHz)
  • Mali-G51 MP4 GPU
  • 3 GB RAM
  • 64 GB of storage
  • Slot for microSD cards (up to 512 GB)
  • Rear camera with double lens – 13Mp + 2Mp, video up to 1080p
  • Single front camera – 24Mp
  • Fingerprint sensor
  • Wi-Fi 802.11b / g / n
  • Bluetooth 4.2 4G LTE
  • Headphone jack
  • Nano-SIM dual (uses SD slot)
  • Micro-USB
  • Non-removable 3400mAh battery
  • 155.2 x 73.4 x 8 mm
  • 162g

8. Moto G6 PlayMoto G6 Play

Price TBC

The Moto G6 Play is a great surprise. It stays next to the other two G6 phones and has better battery life (and a better fingerprint sensor).

The 18: 9 screen and premium design (but plastic) mean it feels as good as phones that double the price but do not compromise performance to do so. It has input for the headphone jack.

We can recommend the G6 Play as one of the best cheap smartphones of the year.

Specifications:

  • Android 8.0 Oreo
  • 5.7 In 18: 9 IPS LCD HD +
  • 1.4GHz Snapdragon 430
  • 3 GB RAM
  • 32 GB of storage (expandable to 128 GB)
  • Rear cameras 13Mp, aperture f / 2.0
  • 8Mp front camera
  • 802.11b / g / n 2.4 GHz
  • Bluetooth 4.2
  • Nano-SIM
  • GPS
  • Non-removable 4000mAh battery
  • 154 x 72 x 9mm
  • 175g

9. Sony Xperia L3Sony Xperia L3

Price TBC

In several ways, the Xperia L3 is a very attractive economic smartphone. It certainly looks good and has some pretty decent features, like a large screen, two rear cameras, but if we go deeper and do not find much to get excited about.

Although the L3 itself is not a bad phone, strong competition from brands like Motorola or Xiaomi makes it look poor in comparison. A 720p screen and mediocre performance are no longer enough, even at this low price

Unless you’re a Sony fan, the Mi A2 Lite has a lot more to offer and the Moto G7 Play is also a great choice and costs even less.

Specifications:

  • Android 8.0 Oreo
  • LCD screen 5.7 inches HD + (1440 x 720) 18: 9
  • Processor MediaTek MT6762 (Helio P22)
  • 3 GB RAM
  • 32 GB of storage (expandable up to 512 GB through microSD)
  • 13Mp f / 2.2 + 2Mp f / 2.4 main double cameras
  • 8Mp f / 2.0 selfie camera
  • Bluetooth 5
  • NFC
  • GPS
  • Fingerprint scanner
  • LTE (4G) Cat 6
  • 802.11 a / b / g / n double band
  • USB-C
  • 3.5 mm headphone jack
  • 3300mAh battery with fast charge
  • 154 x 72 x 8.9mm
  • 156g
