A short guide that explains step by step and in a simple way how to delete the Timeline history on Windows 10. To remove all traces of what was done with the PC.
One of the most useful features among those recently added on Windows 10 is the Timeline. Translated into Italian as Activity History allows you to keep track of all the compatible activities performed in the last weeks on the PC in a chronological manner. Introduced with Windows 10 April 2018 Update. Activity History saves visited websites. Modified documents, viewed multimedia files, and can be consulted by pressing the appropriate button on the taskbar or the “Windows Key + Tab” shortcut.
The interface can include elements that can be useful at a later time. But also of course activities that will not serve or that we want to hide from prying eyes. Removing an element individually is very simple: just press the right button on the preview and click on Remove. In the same way, you can remove all the elements of the same day. You have to press the right button on an item related to that day and select delete everything from yesterday.
Delete Activity History (Timeline)
To delete the activity history in its entirety, instead, you have to go to the settings of the operating system, for a slightly more complex procedure. Below is a list of the simple operations to carry out.
- Open Settings
- Select the Privacy category
- From the left column, choose Activity History
- From the right-hand column, scroll down and press the Delete key, under the section on Clear activity history. The text also indicates the Microsoft account for which we want to delete the History.
The interesting part of both procedures is that the history items will be removed on all devices connected to the internet where the Microsoft account is used, and not only on the one in use.
