Huawei announced an invitation to an event on February 24 during the MWC fair in Barcelona. When it is due to unveil its foldable phone for the first time following in the footsteps of Samsung, Xiaomi and perhaps even Motorola. This handset will also be compatible with 5G networks as the manufacturer has already confirmed.
The invitation implies that we will see a foldable phone: it shows a device with screen that folds out. It should be a design similar to what we’ve seen from other manufacturers. It can take on a small tablet or smartphone format with the interface and apps adapting automatically.
Huawei CEO Richard Yu said recently at a meeting with investors: “We look forward to seeing you in February in Barcelona. Where we will launch the first 5G smartphone with foldable screen.” The company also registered Mate Flex, Mate Flexi, Mate Fold and Mate F.
Samsung and Motorola will also have folding cell phones
Huawei will launch its folding cell phone a few days after Samsung. Whose Unpacked event will be held before the MWC on February 20 . A Korean promotional video was leaked this week, revealing the Galaxy F’s possible design .
Rumors say Motorola will also introduce a folding smartphone using the Razr brand . In addition, it registered designs of a device similar to the old V3. But with a flexible screen occupying the internal part.
In turn, Xiaomi has demonstrated a prototype that is doubly foldable. She has yet to announce plans to release him, not even an official name, but will consider bringing it to market if there is enough demand.
