You just have to click on them so that Windows Repair Tool immediately downloads the correct version and starts it up. With two exceptions, all these tools are ‘ portable ‘, so there is no installation procedure. You recognize the non-portable tools at the [i] behind their name – the ‘i’ of ‘installer’.

Tip 02 Fortunately, the tools are arranged in sections: Hardware, Backup & Recovery, and so on.

Tip 03: Basic information

At the bottom of the Tools tab, you can read the most important information about the system. Which Windows version you use, which processor is in the machine, how much memory is in the slots, whether an internet connection is active, which processor is on the motherboard, which temperature it has reached and finally how much disk space is free on it? the hard drive. A few seconds later, the program is open and the detailed information of the processor, motherboard, graphics card and more is shown in the various tabs. Curious which ram modules are installed on the machine? Open RAMExpert and a few seconds later you read not only the type but also the brand and the serial number of the memory.

This tool is under the button Stress Test. HeavyLoad writes large files to temporary folders, addresses physical and virtual memory and performs complex calculations. In this way, HeavyLoad loads the memory, the hard disk, the processor and the graphics card. When you let this test run for a while, you get an idea of how stable the machine is. If your computer’s temperature gauges turn red or the machine is stuck, then you know what time it is…Put your machine on the rack with HeavyLoad.

Tip 05: Meters

You can easily retrieve and use a program every time since nothing is installed on the PC – with the exception of the two tools marked with [i]. Information such as temperatures, voltages, and velocities of fans appear in a clear screen.

Tip 05 Here you can read all kinds of temperatures, clock speeds, and voltages.

Tip 06: Useful tools

Until now we were talking about diagnostic tools, but in the Useful Tools group, there are some gadgets that can come in handy to solve problems. Take the Fast Copy tool, for example, to quickly copy, paste or delete files. Or the Patch My PC Updater button that opens the assistant to keep all software up-to-date. The program scans the software that is on your machine and shows the outdated software in red. With one click on the button, you can then perform the necessary updates.

Tip 07: Internet repair

In the Repairs box, there is enough tool to restore the settings and software on your PC. If you have internet problems, the ComIntRep button will take you to Complete Internet Repair 3. If you cannot download the program due to the connection problem, Windows Repair Toolbox will first try to repair the internet itself. Tick the parts you want to restore to the default values and confirm with Go.

Tip 07 Complete Internet Repair restores settings of your network, hardware and addressing.

Windows Repair

Behind the Win Repair AIO, the button is the freeware Windows Repair from Tweaking.com. It is a tool for advanced users that you apply only when your PC is completely jammed. This will reset all Windows settings to their original value, for example, if the system is damaged by malware or various software.

Tip 08: Malware killers

Viruses, spyware, adware, trojans … That is food for FreeFixer. Let the program scan the system and at the end, you will get a list of existing threats. Freefixer does not conflict with another antivirus software on your machine and is therefore particularly suitable as a scanner for a ‘second opinion’. A disadvantage is that this virus hunter works rather slowly. FreeFixer mainly checks programs that start automatically, browser plug-ins and recently modified files. The Ultra Ad Killer button leads you to the Ultra Adware Killer tool, which detects and removes malware.Tip 08 Ultra Adware Killer tool also comes in handy to remove all sorts of unwanted browser additions.

Tip 09: Backup

The Backup & Recovery box contains a set of tools to make backup copies of your PC. Aomei Backupper is one of two programs that are really installed on the computer. This is the free version, with which you make a copy of the complete system, of a disk, of a partition or of a specific file. If you choose the disk backup, the program will transfer the entire disk. Back4Sure is an alternative that is in the same group. This application does not use its own backup format. The files are simply compressed in the zip format or in the 7Zip format.

DriverBackup

When you provide a PC with a new operating system, the search for the correct drivers often begins. You should preferably make a backup copy of all available drivers with DriverBackup. Afterwards, you can quickly install the drivers on the new system.

Tip 10: Uninstallers

Under the heading Uninstallers is Revo Uninstaller, a good acquaintance with which you can even remove hard-to-remove software from the hard drive. In addition, there are some specialized Uninstallers such as Decrapifier, a tool that makes short work of commercial waste that comes standard with a PC and that does not add value for the user. You can also find ESET AV Removal Tool, a program that eliminates difficult to remove antivirus software. And then there is Java Uninstall Tool, which improves the safety of your machine because it cleans old Java versions.Tip 10 Decrapifier scans for junk that affect the performance of the computer.

Tip 11: Windows’ own tools

Windows has its own set of tools on board to make diagnoses, but some users do not know how to activate those functions. In the Windows group, for example, the Reliability button is used to address the system’s reliability check. This control function, which provides insight into the stability of the system, has been in Windows since Vista but is not easy to find. Thanks to Windows Repair Toolbox it is only a matter of just one click on the right button. The same applies to the Chkdsk function, a check and repair function for the hard drive that has been going on for thirty years and where you normally only use a command prompt. Chkdsk get out of the button list now.

Tip 11 The built-in Windows Trustworthiness Monitor shows the problem history of your system.

Tip 12: Six virus hunters

Here you will find six anti-virus programs that you can run at the same time to detect malware in your system. The more tools you click on, the longer the scan takes. Put a check mark on the virus hunters you want to use and click Run Unattended Fix. Make sure your work is stored because the PC will restart automatically.Tip 12 We are going to release three virus hunters at the same time on our PC.

Tip 13: Find passwords

The Notes tab seems an outsider in recovery software like this. Indeed: Windows Repair Toolbox provides its own basic text editor on this tab with the familiar buttons to shape notes and record images in the text. But there is a lot more. At the end of the button bar, you will find four buttons that determine the passwords and product keys of software. product keys show the product keys of Windows and Office. Mail PassView reveals the account details including the passwords of the mail programs on your PC. WirelessKeyView retrieves the network keys above and WebBrowserPassView shows all passwords stored in the Internet browsers.Tip 13 ProducKey lifts the Windows and Office product keys.

Monitor

In the Malware Removal and Custom Tools tabs, you see green bars on the right that show the temperature of the CPU, the percentage utilization of the processor, the ram memory and the hard disk. This can be useful in monitoring these data when diagnosing. Give the Settings tab on your monitor to see what your rods and whether the temperature should be in Celsius or Fahrenheit.

Are your favorite repair tools not on the list? You can add them yourself

Tip 14: Expanding tools

If your favorite repair tools do not appear in the list of Windows Repair Tool you can still add them. To do this, open the Custom Tools tab. Open this file with a program like Notepad ++. You cannot save .xml files with the ordinary Notepad.Tip 14 Open the sample file in Notepad ++ and copy and change the purple lines.

Tip 15: Own tools

In this XML document, you will see the example code on line 22 to add the ESET Online Scanner. Copy this line and paste it on line 24. Then enter the name of the tool you want to add after Title. Behind Link, you paste the download link and finally type behind Exe the name of the file that Windows Repair Toolbox should download, for example, rcsetup153.exe. Save the XML file and return to the Windows Repair Toolbox, where you click the Import file button in the Custom Tools tab to import this XML file. You will notice that the new tools immediately end up in the Custom Tools list.Tip 15 We have added two applications ourselves: Eset Online Scanner and Recuva.

Tip 16: Tests

While you are recovering a PC, you also want to know which parts are working or not. That is why Windows Repair Toolbox also includes an extensive number of tests. If you want to know whether Word, Excel, PowerPoint, java, flash, etc. are working properly, just click on the right buttons. To test whether your PC can handle avi files or mp3, this toolbox will also open the correct player. In the same way, you even test whether the microphone or webcam does it.Tip 16 To test the Internet speed, Windows Repair Toolbox uses the Ookla speed test.
